about

Tom Moody: I really appreciated it when you said a while back, about my Industrial Nonsense and Hardware Sequencer releases, that “they just fly by!” I’m trying to make music for the short-attention-span era, that packs as much as possible into a small window.

St Celfer: In your track "qMI Three Channel Composition (2019)," on Industrial Nonsense, for example, you are showing off your formal ability to move us through blocks of sound and make a statement in just a little over a minute and a half. There is no repetition on that entire album (tommoody.bandcamp.com/album/industrial-nonsense) yet it seems to encompass everything I have ever heard you make. With Minutemen-like conciseness. (As in the ‘80s Southern California punk band.) And Schumann-circa-1840-like production. (He wrote 138 songs that year.)
